The Christmas Eve waterfowl migration report from Avery Outdoors Pro-Staff member David Rearick:

Location: Mercer, Pa.
Weather: Cold, but with a warm front on the horizon. Things are starting to thaw out again today with the help of a steady rain.
Snow cover: None, all of it melted over the last few days.
Water conditions: High, what isn’t frozen is well above normal levels, and with the incoming rain, they should reach flood stage in some areas.
Feeding conditions: Good, lots of corns and beans in the cut fields.
Species and numbers: Fair numbers of Canada geese and low numbers of ducks.
Migrations: Not much moving through at this time, everything that has pushed has passed over us.
Season stage: Late season
Hunting report: The season just re-opened and it has been slow to say the least. With temps in the single digits things have been sitting tight.
Gossip: Birds in the area, but they are very limited in when they fly and where they go. Makes good days and bad days for those out hunting.
