GPS navigators are not always accurate, as Belgian woman Sabine Moreau, 67, can attest. On the way to pick up a friend from the Brussels train station — a trip that should have been 38 miles — Moreau’s GPS took her on an international road trip for 1,865 miles through France, Germany, Austria and Slovenia and ending in Zagreb, Croatia. Despite seeing traffic signs in various languages, Moreau never questioned if she was going the right way.

“I saw all kinds of traffic signs. First in French, then in German – Cologne, Aachen, Frankfurt,” she told a Belgian news website. “But I didn’t ask myself any questions. I was just distracted, so I kept my foot down…I didn’t really notice anything was wrong until I suddenly arrived in Zagreb and realised that I was no longer in Belgium.”

This is a good lesson for all of us. If you start seeing signs in other languages and you were never meant to cross any international borders, your GPS may possibly be taking you in the wrong direction.
