Glam Great Gatsby Inspired Photoshoot
With the latest release of “The Great Gatsby”, I’ve noticed a lot of 1920’s inspired content popping up in my inbox and I couldn’t be more happier. Today’s photoshoot sent over to me by Simple Soiree Weddings & Events stands out because the overall look is refined, yet glam, and I am in love with the combination of the rich blue hue paired with bright tangerine and flashes of gold. Love it!
Says Simple Soiree Weddings & Events : For our wedding shoot we were going to hold it in a local park but the day before we happened upon The Secret Garden. They were more than happy to let us use their venue which turned out to be perfect! We teamed up with photographer Sarah Sovereign to shoot our 1920’s “The Great Gatsby” meets 2013’s understated glam. We used muted shades of metallic in antique gold and oxidized silver (my grandmother was very upset we were not polishing the silver first!), accented by jewel tones of vibrant emerald and blue topaz with a pop of orange from the tea roses. On the table top we used feathers, spheres and different textures to create contrast from the soft fabrics to the hard slate. We liked the tassels on both the chairs and napkins; as sort of an ode to the 20’s flapper girl. Our model is wearing a vintage head piece and a beaded gold & ivory gown.
