CMUK Shoes Review

As a backpacker, trying to fit my running shoes in my backpack every trip is basically impossible, I end up getting stuck with wearing them everywhere I go, and sometimes, you just want to wear flip flops! The solution? The ultimate traveller shoe— CMUK shoes (pronounced SMOOK).

I first was introduced to these shoes at the Women in Travel Summit in Boston when a bunch of the organizers were wearing them. I needed to get my hands on a pair as soon as I found out they were made for travellers, and were great for squishing in just about any bag. After just recently traveling to Asia and facing the issue of my runners not fitting in my backpack ever, this was something I only dreamed about existing!

CMUK has designed and built a shoe that fits the practical needs of a traveller. Their shoes are not only practical but also stylish, ranging in all sorts of colours !

What makes them so great?

– They’re breathable and lightweight
– They have a durable and grippy rubber sole
– They’re compact and packable (they fold flat)
– You can wash them in a washing machine
– You don’t even need socks to wear them
– They’re 100% vegan
– They’re made of quick-dry material

Final Verdict

If that isn’t enough reasons to love these shoes, I don’t know what else you need. These shoes are seriously versatile and great for a traveller. You don’t have to worry about wearing them in the water and them taking days to dry, or having to make extra room in your suitcase or backpack for them. They’re also super comfy! I didn’t even have to break mine in. The only downfall is the arch support, but that can easily be fixed when you insert and orthotic like I did. I seriously love these shoes, they solve a problem that I’m sure many travellers face, and I’m so excited to wear these out and about around Toronto, and on my next trip.
