The Presque Isle Audubon Society and PIAS Field Trips
The Presque Isle Audubon’s mission is : To conserve and restore natural ecosystems, focusing on birds, other wildlife, and their habitats for the enjoyment and benefit of humanity and the earth’s biological diversity in northwestern Pennsylvania.
By joining the Presque Isle Audubon (PIAS), you can help with conservation efforts and enjoy some great benefits including the PIAS field trips. Some of the upcoming field trip events include shore bird identification, sanctuary tours, and a waterfowl watch. A one year membership costs $15. With membership, you can enjoy all of the benefits of the local society including: the Tern of Events newsletter, membership meetings, field trips, voting privileges, and special events.

7:30am – Noon
Sure, I can ID Shore Birds.
Shorebirds are some of the most difficult birds to identify. On this trip out to Gull Point (3 mile hike), we’ll be perched in the observation platform and attempting to ID shore birds at a distance.

10/10/15 Saturday
9:00am – 11:00am
Sanctuary Tour
Together we’ll conduct a survey of the birds at Laura Olson Memorial Sanctuary.
1/15/15 Sunday
7:30am – 10:30am
Waterfowl Watch
During migration, waterfowl can be seen crossing the lake by the thousands. They can also be found hanging out in staging areas on the bay. We’ll be looking for residents and migrants alike as we move from the lake to the bay on this trip.
