We have two separate venues for our wedding – a ceremony venue and a reception venue. I would like to have chair covers for both locations. However, I don’t want to spend an extra $500 to rent a second set of chair covers.
Is there any way to be able to use one set of chair covers for both venues? With the help of family members, etc, would using one set of chair covers be possible?
Jolyn:
Well Christine, you aren’t alone in your quandary over how to manage chair covers & their associated cost for two venues.
As a wedding designer who has a keen eye for details in the reception room, I’m going to advise you that you must have two sets of chair covers. Let me explain why…
When chair covers for Nuance Occasions events get delivered, they arrive in beautiful dry clean bags, either hanging on a rack or carefully folded into bins to minimize creasing. This ensures the chair covers look their very best when placed on the chairs.
When we remove the chair covers after a ceremony, they are already creased to the shape of the chair they were placed on, and they are now just a piece of fabric – they are extremely difficult at this point to fold or hang. That means you have no easy way while in transport to ensure they maintain their best look for your reception.
Now don’t despair, there are some tricks to the trade that may help your budget. Select chair covers for your ceremony that are more basic or more cost effective. Afterall, your guests will only be in your ceremony room for less than 45 minutes. Perhaps not have chair ties for your ceremony chairs. Save the wow factor, chair ties or specialty fabric covers for your reception.
If your ceremony chairs don’t completely clash with your color scheme, even consider just adding chair ties to the ceremony chairs instead of full covers.
For Nuance Occasions events, we do not re-use chair covers. If the ceremony & reception venues are two different locations, we budget appropriately for two sets of chair covers. Please don’t sacrifice the look for your reception chair covers by trying to save a few dollars in your chair cover rentals. If chair covers are important to you for both venues, get two sets, and find another area of your budget you can recover some of the costs from.
Best wishes Christine, and although I know it’s not the answer you want to hear, I hope you can understand why it is best to rent 2 sets.
