Pennsylvania Statewide General Firearms Season for Deer opens Tomorrow
The PA General Statewide Firearms Deer Season opens tomorrow, December 1st, and continues through December 13th. The first day of deer hunting is often the most exciting and memorable. With so many hunters in the woods enjoying this annual tradition, deer will be moving all over the woods throughout the day. Last year I had the chance to see dozens of deer by lunchtime.
Luckily, I harvested a large bodied 8 point this year during archery season. Although I have meat in the freezer, I will still be out tomorrow enjoying the experience with family and friends. I will be among the annual 750,000 Pennsylvanians who take part in this annual tradition. The Pennsylvania Game Commission forecasts a good deer harvest this year, after a banner year for mast crops.
