October Deer of the Month announced
Congratulations to Shane Weidler, who earned the most votes in October’s NWPA Outdoors Deer of the Month contest.
Weidler shot his deer Oct. 12 in Girard. The 9-point had a 21 3/8-inch outside spread and weighed 218 pounds when field-dressed.
Weidler is the first hunter to become a finalist for the Deer of the Year vote in February.
The November NWPA Outdoors Deer of the Month and Year Contest is now open for photo submisions. You also can share your trophy photo in the NWPA Outdoors Hunting & Fishing gallery for your chance at being featured in Deer of the Day without entering the contest.
