November Deer of the Month winner: Joe Falk, Union City
Congratulations to archer Joe Falk, of Union City, the NWPA Outdoors Deer of the Month winner for November.
Falk got his first buck Nov. 14 on the heels of a snowstorm in the Erie region.
“The buck came in quietly from the north after I hit the buck grunt and doe bleats a couple of times. He came within 15 yards of where I was 12 feet (up) in a climber stand. He was shot and dropped within 10 yards.”
Falk’s deer photo was one of 12 entered in the NWPA Outdoors Deer of the Month and Year Contest for November. Public voting on the monthly winner started Nov. 24 and ended Sunday. Falk wins a copy of “ Dead Man’s Fancy ” by Keith McCafferty and a place alongside October winner Ryan Norr, of Guys Mills , in the Deer of the Year finale in February.
The December Deer of the Month submission period for photos opened today, the first day of the general firearms season in Pennsylvania.
