Angler nets big French Creek musky
Ryan Norr of Blooming Valley Pennsylvania, recently caught and released this 45 inch muskellunge. Its massive size and monstrous appearance fascinated his 1 year old daughter Elizabeth as she took a closer look.
We’ve been catching and releasing these fish. They are a real challenge to catch and Ryan’s fish is the largest we’ve caught to date. Chris Fuller of Millcreek got us interested in targeting these fish almost ten years ago. He caught the first legal musky out of our band of anglers from the since drained Tamarack Lake. At first, we used live bait, but now we have a few other presentations that catch fish. Lures must be worked slowly in the cold water, often pausing to entice strikes.
