We’re ending the week with a lovely engagement from Julia Park Photography captured in the heart of downtown Toronto. Jacob and Lily admit they aren’t the type of couples who often take photos, but given their engagement, they felt it was the perfect time for them to capture themselves as a couple on film. Says Lily “We wanted the photos to not only represent our personalities but to be timeless with a touch of whimsy.

The paper flowers were made by the bride-to-be and surely a sign that this DIY maven will be creating some items for her own wedding day. Lily shares with us how she created the lovely large blooms.

The flowers were handmade with doublet crepe paper, 180 gram florist crepe paper, florist tape. 18 gauge florist wire and wooden dowels. Each paper flower was made of 5 tear drop shaped petals and 15 heart shaped petals which were cut from doublet crepe paper, stretched then curled for a more life like effect before being taped with florist tape around a wooden dowel. Leaf shapes were cut out of 180 gram florist crepe paper and taped onto floral wire.
