For those of us that anticipate the annual steelhead run with growing excitement, there are fish beginning to show up near the mouths of creeks. The best times to fish for these early arrivals is morning and later in the evening. Casting spoons, streamers, and fishing with live emerald shiners can entice these fish as they arrive fresh from the lake. Steelhead feed mainly on other fish in the lake during summer months, so give them something they are familiar with seeing.
