[youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kw4aNbKYxws]No trip to Brazil or Argentina would be complete without a visit to the world-renowned Iguazu Falls (if you’re on the Brazil side)/ Iguassu Falls (if you’re on the Argentina side).

Getting There: To get to Foz do Iguacu in Brazil, which is where I homebased, I used Green Toad Bus . Previously, I had been in Sao Paulo , and was able to take a comfortable and luxurious overnight bus. The seats actually reclined so much that they practically turned into beds. The drivers made plenty of stops for food, drinks, and restrooms, although there was a bathroom on board. Just one note, make sure to bring a blanket or dress very warm, as the air conditioning can get very chilly.

Hostels: Whether you’re staying in Brazil or Argentina, I would recommend using Bambu Hostels . I stayed in both and found them to be a extremely clean, spacious, and even luxurious, with an outdoor pool, gym equipment, tour bookings, and delicious free breakfast each morning. The staff were helpful and answered all the questions I had about the area and possible tours.

Tour to the Falls:

The national park where the falls are is enormous, and I recommend booking a tour and boat trip either through Bambu Hostels or Green Toad Bus. For about $125, you’ll get a full day of exploring. A guide will handle immigration procedures for you (I didn’t even need to get out of the car to cross the border), and will lead you through the park to the Argentinian side of the falls. You’ll see the Devil’s Throat, as well as many other waterfalls. The setting takes on a magical atmosphere with more rainbows and butterflies in one day than you’ve seen in your life. The best part of the day, however, is the boat trip. You’ll actually get to experience the falls up close and personal as you’re taken so close you’ll be touching them. The day ends with a relaxing jungle jeep tour.

Enough talking. Check out the video above and the photos below for a more visual idea of the experience.
