Personal Update: Crunch Time

I have to apologize since it’s been a while since I’ve posted a personal update. This upcoming month will be a complete whirlwind with last minute details, fittings, appointments, confirmations – just about everything that every bride goes through when they’re almost to the finish line. So in advance, I have to let you know that I may seem a bit absent on the site because well, life comes first, I guess – just this one time :]

Here are just a couple things I picked up for the wedding for those interested!

Personal Update: Crunch Time

How adorable are these organic, woven lime green favor boxes? A little unknown fact: they were the single item that I based my entire wedding off of. I still remember seeing them from a wedding that I absolutely adored and went all over the place trying to find them in Canada. Luckily for me, I was able to get them from Wedding Star and received them on my doorstep in just a few days. Originally, Jason and I had a strict budget on the favors but we definitely went over by purchasing these boxes. Each box (not including the favors themself or the ribbon that will be wrapped around it) cost us about $1.10 each. I’ve had moments where I run into other alternatives that are a fraction of the cost and want to kick myself, but deep down I know this was something I just couldn’t compromise. And that’s true, with any wedding, you have to learn when to give and take.

Glassware! Now while my wedding is all about clean lines and modern minimalist, I thought it would be nice to add some nice pieces in the decor, especially in the items that adorn the sign in tables and gift table. I picked up the left candle holder at Chintz and Company , which I have to mention is one of my favorite stores EVER. I could literally shop in there for hours but thankfully Jason’s there to pull me out when it gets a little excessive! The right cylinder with the suspended tealight were purchased at walmart. A tip: you should never shy away from large department stores or resort to renting immediately, because you never know what you’ll find. Just be on the lookout.

I have to also mention that we had a tasting for our wedding and I will say it was AMAZING. I’m looking to get the photos that were taken by the kitchen, so I can share it with you. As well, it’s equally exciting that I’m getting my photo taken at a local bridal shop for my local newspaper, the Edmonton Journal, as they’re running the same article from the Calgary Herald.

4 weeks to go!

Have a fabulous weekend and happy planning !
