Endangered Species Day event and geocaching this Saturday at Chapman State Park

From 10am until noon there will be a ”Wild things in your Woodlands” event featuring the northern flying squirrel and it’s habitat. Join the park naturalist as nest boxes are checked for the highly endangered northern flying squirrel. Participants will meet at the Park Amphitheater.This event is open to the public and free of charge.

Then from 1pm until 3pm, you can learn about geocaching with a high tech treasure hunt at the park. For this event, the meeting place is the Environmental Learning Center at Chapman State Park. GPS units will be provided or bring your own. Please call to register. the cost for this event is $5.
