December Deer of the Month winner: Dave Miniger, Erie
Congratulations to Dave Miniger, of Erie, whose 10-point is the winner of the December NWPA Outdoors Deer of the Month.
Miniger shot his trophy Oct. 24 with his recurve bow while hunting on state game lands.
Miniger’s deer photo was one of 17 entered in the NWPA Outdoors Deer of the Month and Year Contest for December. Public voting for the monthly winner started Dec. 24 and ended Wednesday. Miniger finished a close second to the deer that got the most votes. However, the hunter whose deer won the public vote decided to withdraw from the contest on Jan. 1.
Miniger now joins October winner Ryan Norr, of Guys Mills , and November winner Joe Falk, of Union City , in the Deer of the Year finale in February.
The January Deer of the Month submission period for photos opened Jan. 1.
