… looks like I wasn’t the only one palling around Mugu Peak recently. Reader Pete Warren wrote in to point me to a great description of an overnight at the trail camp he did last year (complete with trail martinis). He’s got some great logistical info for planning a backpack there, too — like parking tips and phone numbers for more information.

Also today, law student (and new backpacker! welcome!) who runs the personal blog Road to Xibalba posted a first-person account of his overnight in the park … complete with a strange aural run-in with some distant speaking-in-tongues types.

Both are worth checking out if you want to get an idea of what it’s like to camp out there . Although hopefully, you won’t have any experiences with strange religious folks.
