April Showers
There is something stunningly beautiful and serene about an outdoor wedding. However, there is a lot that goes into planning a flawless outdoor reception.
- There are so many different tent styles. Work with your planner, venue and rental company to decide which look is best for you. You will also want to ensure the tent meets all of the venue constraints – is it going on top of a rocky mountain or a sand dune?
- Consider the weather – if it is mid summer you will want to look into installing an AC unit for guests. During the winter, patio heaters or a heating unit should be considered.
- There are additional expenses – you may need to consider installing a floor in the tent, especially if it is going over uneven ground. Another variable to consider is if you will need sides due to excessive wind or rain.
- You’ll probably need to fluff it up – tents are a blank canvas. Depending on the look you are hoping for, you may want to install gorgeous drape or hanging lighting pieces.
- Most likely, if you are tenting your reception space and there is not an existing venue nearby on the property, don’t forget the portable restroom. These days, luxury portable restrooms are easy to come by. You don’t want your guests worrying about walking a mile to use the restroom! That’s less time on the dance floor!
