Romantic Silvertip Resort Wedding in Alberta
There’s always that one wedding that you could spend hours looking at. Beautiful, inspiring and filled with love. Today Corrina Walker Photography shares with us Ben and Kristi’s wedding held in the mountains at the Silvertip Resort in Alberta. I am absolutely smitten with the decor coordinated by Cherry Tree Occasions , straight from the sequin chevron linens brought in from the US, modern cocktail seating and absolutely jaw dropping florals throughout. Yet another a wedding you’ll want to bookmark for later because I dare any bride not to be inspired by this one.
Says Corrina: Ben and Kristi’s perfect mountainesque wedding was a sophisticated, romantic wedding, filled with lots of beautiful flowers, soft neutral tones, textures and fabrics, and really warm lighting. This beautiful wedding was put together and created by Callandra Caufield of Cherry Tree Occasions along with Ben’s and Kristi who both had a strong vision. And this incredibly social couple indicated that partying with friends and family was also going to be a big wedding day priority. As the wedding was hosted at Silvertip Golf Resort, a venue right in the middle of the Canadian Rockies featuring lots of rustic elements, so the touch of the outdoors was brought into the design as well, creating a soft romantic wedding with a hint of rustic and an injection of high energy fun! It’s funny how the smallest elements can inspire a whole design, and for Kristi and Ben’s wedding, It was the1970’s starburst clocks; it’s sophisticated, but also really fun and celebratory. It allowed the use of some glitter and really embodied the Kristi & Ben’s high energy.
The cocktail hour was hosted in a clear tent with amazing views of the mountains. The tent carried the romantic feel with strings of cafe lights, wood trays holding
gold mercury glass candles and small floral arrangements, grey blankets to keep warm and modern sophisticated furniture. The cocktail reception also feature an
element was the sequin chevron table linens from La Tavola, creating a juxtaposition of really natural mountain views combined with the chic modern feel of the linens.
For dinner, guests were invited into Silvertip’s large, rustic ballroom. To create some visual interest there was a mix of rectangle, square, and round tables. With Ben & Kristi right in the centre of the room at a square table, which is so fitting given how much they love being surrounded by family & friends. The room was lit in warm amber tones, and pin spotted the centrepieces and cake table. The large florals from the ceremony were reused on all of the long tables, and the floral designer created lush, low posies in gold footed containers for the round tables. The tables were covered in a white textured linen, and a natural feel was added by using fruitwood chiavari chairs & a wood grain charger. Three different heights of stemmed candles, and gold mercury glass votives added a warm glow to the table tops. The star of the reception decor was definitely the stationery created by Alyssa at Plush Invitations. Glittering starburst table numbers and place cards added just enough sparkle to the table to really give the space a celebratory feel. The cake was created by Kristi’s Aunt, it can be so meaningful to have a talented friend or relative contribute to your wedding day. It was so clean and simple, topped with antique roses and a glittery “best day ever” cake topper. As the dinner ended and the party started, some guests wandered back out into the tent where the cafe lights were now a hot pink colour. The lighting designer amped up the colour on the dance floor that was packed till the very end. They focused on dance tunes that would get everyone on the dance floor! Lots of Motown, oldies, Reggae/Soca and current dance and hip hop music were paramount to our party atmosphere. When the crew returned to start the tear down process, the DJ had stopped playing, but the guests were still in the middle of the dance floor, signing loudly and still dancing. It was the perfect ending to the night.
The bride’s favourite moments:
– seeing the reaction on both my dad and Ben’s faces when I got out of the limo and walked down the aisle. They made me feel like the most loved girl on the
planet.
– braving the crazy winds with our bridal party during our photoshoot on the bridge. We were hiding under umbrellas to stop the wind from ruining our hair but
I was laughing the whole time!
– sneaking into our reception space to see the unbelievable décor, lighting and flowers, and then sharing a beer in the hallway while we waited for our official
entrance as husband and wife.
– Dancing alllll night long. So much so that we forgot about our late night food.
– When the facility asked us to turn off the music, our friends and family kept singing and dancing, keeping the partying going even without music. This was
the perfect finish to our incredible night!
