The Allegheny National Forest, in NWPA, contains about 800 square miles of protected forests and waterways that have been set aside for outdoor recreation, wilderness preservation, and wildlife and fisheries habitats. Some of the trees in this forest are over 100 years old. Many parks and federally protected wilderness areas exist within the forest.

The Allegheny National Forest offers opportunities for camping, hiking, biking, kayaking, canoeing, boating, fishing, hunting, ATV trails, horse trails, and many other outdoor activities. There are so many beautiful overlooks, natural areas, and trails to discover. The Kinzua Sky Walk, Rim Rock Overlook, and Hearts Content Scenic Area are a few of the possible destinations in the Allegheny National Forest.
