I am utterly head-over-heels in love with today’s real wedding by Melissa of Sugar and Soul Photography . I know I don’t often showcase Winnipeg weddings but you’ll realize after this that there’s loads of unbelievable talent in terms of wedding vendors. Danielle and Jon, today’s beautiful couple opted for a more rustic theme, paying homage to their “country” roots. Planned by Tammy of Divine Weddings , no detail was left unplanned and I can’t help but get more smitten with burlap and green succulents. Enjoy!

What was your favorite wedding day moment?

That’s a tough one to nail down. I would have to say seeing him at our “first look” (our photographer did a fantastic job of executing it) or seeing his face the moment I stepped out to walk down the isle. I didn’t know if I was even going to be able to walk! I wondered before if doing the first look would take away from the specialness of walking down the isle but it definitely didn’t…I am glad we got to spend the whole day together because of it. I am certain I would have been a complete mess had I not seen him previously!!

Danielle and Jon had an outdoor jewish ceremony. Seats were arranged in a half-round making the ceremony feel more intimate. Just how cute is the flower girl in the tutu holding balloons?

What was the overall inspiration for your wedding decor?

I wasn’t one of those girls that had dreamed about my wedding since I was a little girl so I basically had ZERO idea of what I wanted, I just knew from attending other weddings what I really didn’t want. I hope that doesn’t sound mean! I searched around on wedding blogs and took into consideration what time of year we were getting married. I knew I wanted to somehow incorporate being raised in the country into the grand scheme of things too – if that makes any sense! So out came the “girly” side of me with the lace and the burlap representing my “country roots”. I know it’s also been a huge, possibly one of the biggest trends of weddings in 2011 though. It seemed I saw a couple of them and then everyone was doing it! I’m sure this is how many brides feel.

Any advice for future brides-to-be?

  • don’t sweat the small stuff no one else will ever notice anything not being the way it’s “supposed’ to be.
  • Take some time to just be with your husband at some point during the day, we’re jewish so it was easy for us as we have yichud….but I highly recommend it to everyone. You’ll be able to have a moment to just hold each other and say “holy S%&T, we’ve done it!! We’re married!!”
  • If it’s in the budget, hire a wedding planner (even just for the day of) I didn’t want to my sister, bridesmaids, Mom, MIL or myself worrying about anything.
  • Enjoy every moment – it slips by so quickly and it’s truly the best day ever! When will there be another time in your life when you will have most of your family and friends together in one room?!
