A Beautiful Wedding in Burlington

I am jumping in my winter boots in excitement to share this lovely fall wedding captured by Judy Jakusz Photography . Meet Erin & Mark! As with the rest of us, Erin & Mark tried their best to create a stylish wedding under a tight budget. Erin is definitely one smart and creative bride because she created all of her wedding stationery items and opted to spend more on the important items such as the reception and venue. But when it comes to decor, if you focus on the important items and do a lot of the items yourself, it doesn’t look like you’ve compromised on anything. Although this was a fall wedding, they wanted it to be fresh and modern, opting to use a ‘granny smith apple’ green colour (my fave!) throughout and paired it with black and touches of soft pink. And you’ll just absolutely love the cake as much as I do.

DECOR INSPIRATION

For my decor, Geraldo’s at LaSalle Park provided the canvas with their beautiful venue right on the water in Burlington, ON. They were another great vendor to work with – the provided the basics with the chair and table covering, as well as head and cake table draping. I used the bulk of my budget to focus on venue and photography, so for accessory portion of decor, (ie – stationary and paper, table numbers, seat chart, cake, guest and gift table identifiers, as well as centrepieces, and ceremony ailse decor), I chose to DIY it to save some money.

My favorite decor piece was the picture framed table numbers which cost $1.50 each to make! Also, knowing I didn’t have a huge decor budget, I wanted all elements of the wedding not traditionally known as decor to be beautiful enough on their own to stand out as decor. Like the cake, which was thanks to “The Goodie Goddess”, of Binbrook, ON, truly was a piece of art in my biased opinion, and all of my girls jewelry, including my own designed by Aleksandra Jewelry of Cambridge, ON.
