2015 Conneaut Lake Ice Fishing Tournament this Saturday, Feb.28
The 2015 Conneaut Lake Ice Fishing Tournament, sponsored by Timberland Bait Shop, is this Saturday, Feb. 28 at Conneaut Lake. The lake has a great population of northern pike so anglers should have a lot of fun catching these fish through the ice. Conneaut Lake also is home to some very large muskellunge. The Pennsylvania state record musky was caught from these waters and weighed 54 lb. 3 oz. Although the fish was caught in 1924, some very large fish are still found in Conneaut Lake.
Timberland bait will hold it’s annual Conneaut Lake Ice Fishing Contest this Saturday from 7am until 4:30pm. Cash prizes will be awarded for largest musky, northern pike, walleye, crappie, and perch. Prizes will be awarded at 5pm. The cost of registration is $15. You can purchase tickets before the tournament at Timberland Bait Shop or at Anchorman’s Beer Distributors-Home of Chuck’s Bait. Tickets can also be purchased at the Fireman’s Beach at Conneaut Lake the morning of the event. Jerry Van Tassel, of Timberland Bait, will have his headquarters and operations set up there.
