Bold Purple Wedding at the Liberty Grand
This week’s inspiration just keeps getting better and better. Today we share a classic luxe wedding held at the Liberty Grand in Toronto captured by by Trevor & Larissa . Vanessa and Owen wanted a wedding that would reflect their personalities, so with the help of planner Laura Kelly Wedding Design , they paired up with Rachel A Clingen who provided the lush florals and beautiful decor. I adore the bold, rich palette of the various shades of purple paired with touches of sparkle.
How did you two meet?
Owen and i worked for the same company for a few years but in offices an ocean apart… he in London and I in Toronto… though we had been at several of the same events over the years, we didnt actually meet until we both attended a conference in Vegas and fortunately, in our case, the saying “what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas” couldn’t be further from the truth… we were engaged there 4 years later in front of the stunningly romantic Bellagio fountains
What was your favorite moment from your wedding day?
Mine: our First Look – Owen was waiting for me behind a beautiful willow and when I saw him, I could barely stop myself from running down the path to him, even in 5″ Manolos… Any stress I had been feeling that morning was completely gone the moment I saw him standing there, and I somehow just knew in those few seconds, that we were going to have an absolutely amazing day (and I was right ;)
His: saying our vows. We spent time finding the right language, and on the day they suited us and the setting perfectly.
What was your inspiration behind your overall wedding decor and colour choices?
Early in our planning, we decided that we wanted to plan a wedding that was classy, elegant but most of all, fun, and we went for big bold purples to complement the classic architecture and neutral palette of the lovely Liberty Grand. We wanted a wedding that reflected our personalities, and with the help of Rachel and her team to execute on our vision, were very pleased with the result!
Do you have any advice for other brides/grooms-to-be?
As much as possible, enjoy the process and really take the opportunity to work together and have fun with it. You have to keep moving all the arrangements along, so staying focussed is important and by taking small steps often it can be enjoyable. It will all be over within the blink of an eye so keep in mind that the journey is just as important as the big day. That said, take time to really enjoy the day and try to sneak a few moments alone together to stop and appreciate the fruits of your labor and the beginning of your next chapter. It will go by so quickly so invest in great photographers to capture these beautiful memories.
