Whimsical Chicopee Resort Wedding from Bloom Photography
Bloom Photography shares with us a beautiful wedding that’s all kinds of pretty. Alyssa and Craig wanted a wedding in the woods and the Chicopee Ski Resort was the perfect setting. I am absolutely smitten with many of the details including the ceremony backdrop, soft pink mismatched bridesmaid dresses and the one shoulder bow detail on Alyssa’s dress.
What was your wedding inspiration?
I had always dreamed of having a wedding in the woods. The idea of having the trees and the speckled spots of sunshine around us just seemed so romantic to me. So Craig and I were thrilled when we found the perfect setting at a small local ski club just minutes from our house. Even though we had 120 people at our wedding, the forest felt so intimate. After the ceremony we had a cocktail reception out on a large deck off of the chalet and dinner in the chalet. Craig and I had opted for a late summer wedding because I wanted there to be as little chance of rain as possible and we ended up being very lucky. The day was absolutely gorgeous.
Any favourite wedding moments?
My favourite wedding moment was during our vows. My 2-year old nephew, the ring bearer, came up on the stage where we were standing and our Officiant said “can I get security up here”. I thought it was a really hilarious and cute moment. It was one of the things that made our wedding feel intimate.
Any advice for future brides/grooms-to-be?
My advice would be to know going into it that a wedding takes an exhaustive amount of planning and money. But the planning will all be worth it in the end when the big day finally arrives. So try to keep your stress in check and enjoy every moment of the planning process. Also, I would recommend that you get a big picture with all of the guests at your wedding. It was something that I didn’t do and in hindsight, its something I really wish I had.
