Rustic Chic Wedding at Country Heritage Park
Diana Marie Photography shares with us a beautiful outdoor wedding that is sure to make you swoon. From the lovely floral hairpiece to the free people bridesmaid dresses and the polkadot tie, the whimsical wedding is just full of charming details. The bride’s favourite colour is maroon, so they complemented it with dusty pink, ivory, white, cream and navy. The goal was to have an outdoor wedding where guests could enjoy themselves on their special day.
Their love story: Danny and I started dating on January 1, 2009, he asked me on new years eve/new year day. I was 15 years old and he was 19. I was not looking to enter into a serious relationship when we started dating but once we began dating, I saw how he was such an incredible guy and knew that he was the one I was going to marry at 15 years old. I felt like God really took care of me. This is because when I was 15, I wasn’t looking for a guy who was christian, loving, hardworking, etc (all these qualities that you want in a boyfriend, fiancee, husband) but Danny had all of them. We dated for 5 years and a half. They were the best 5 years and a half in our lives :P We are both very active and love trying new things together! Some of the things that we have done together is: helicopter rides, white water rafting, biking, running, rock climbing, water skiing and wake boarding, etc. He proposed on November 9, 2013 and we got married on July 6 2014. His proposal was very cute! It was completely a surprise. He decorated this area in a forest that we go to with his sites and cousin. This spot in the forest included a massive tree and you could stand/sit underneath it and it was beside the grand river. They put white Chinese lantern in the trees, rose petals on the ground and roses hanging from the tree branches. He had a walkway to the tree that was outlined with white paper bags with lights inside of them. It was very magical and whimsical. He asked me to go on a walk one evening before we meet up with some friends and I did not want to go at first because I had a paper to write for school, but he convinced me. We went at like 6 pm but it was pitch dark then. Once we got to our spot, I saw all of the lights and flowers and I was in awe and in shock. He took me under the tree and got down on one knee. I do not even remember what he said to me then, I was so surprised! Instant tears rolled down my face and I peeped out a “yes” and we kissed and hugged. We spent an hour there just sitting, talking, dancing, laughing, being in shock. After that,
we called family and friend to tell them the good news :)
The thing I love the most about our relationship is that we are best friends (I know it sounds lame) but we have such a good time together and we enjoy one anothers company so much.
Advice for brides planning now: No matter how much you plan, the day will never be perfect/how you imagined it to be. Do not have any expectations for that day but just ENJOY it. No matter what happens, enjoy it because it is yours and your husbands day to celebrate each other with your family and friends. Do not regret anything.
