Modern Painted Wedding at the Evergreen Brickworks in Toronto
I absolutely adore today’s wedding captured by JR Magat Photography and planned by Love by Lynzie Weddings & Events . Evergreen Brickworks in its industrial chic grandeur was the perfect backdrop for Toby and Ira’s modern wedding, a couple who are far from traditional. Infusing colour and personality into the space, they created their own painted stationery items in the colours of blues, greens and yellows. Although it’s entirely memorable, contemporary and modern brides you definitely want to bookmark this for later.
What was the inspiration behind your wedding decor / colours?
We began by designing our own invitations featuring a painting we created together using gauche, which featured natural and earthy blues, greens, and yellows. Using this color scheme as inspiration, our wedding coordinator worked with us to create décor and flowers that complemented the character of the Evergreen Brickworks, an industrial oasis in downtown Toronto. We wanted a casual, non-traditional, and eco-groovy feel, and our wedding coordinator brought these themes to life beautifully.
Any favourite wedding moments?
Instead of asking guests to clink a glass to get us to kiss, they had to stand up and perform a song. We got everything from The Little Mermaid’s “Kiss the Girl,” to a barbershop quartet, to Sir Mix-a-Lot’s “Baby Got Back.”
Any advice for future brides/grooms-to-be?
The dancing portion of the evening was top priority to us. If it is for you, too, try to find a venue that allows you to stay later in the evening. Also, I was really happy to have a different (shorter) dress to dance in!
