Says Jade: This wedding was nothing short of amazing due to the eclectic feel of the beautiful venue paired with this couples adoration of each other. Friends and family came from all over North America to attend the wedding which made the day extra special for this bride and groom. Kildara farms is quaint venue located in Sidney BC just north of Victoria on Vancouver Island. Run by Sarah Hughes of Fresh View events (the florist) who has an eye for detail, this venue is a perfect spot to have an intimate ceremony with a backyard feel (it literally takes place in a back yard!) while surrounded by nature. From the ocean view serving as a backdrop for the ceremony to the adjacent orchard, the bride and groom fell in love with this venue and just knew they had to get married here. There are knick knacks all over the farm which really serve to give it an interesting character and the guests are constantly amazed by their surroundings. Glass bottles are filled with fresh flowers, there are old suitcases and lamps everywhere and old bicycles hold some of the flowers and wedding ceremony signs. The reception takes place in the barn which also has an upstairs dressing room for the ladies inspired by an eclectic old Paris feel with an antique sitting area and old boxes and perfume bottles adorning the room.

This wedding was unique because it was planned in only two months. Brad and Erin got engaged in March 2014 and decided they wanted to tie the knot as soon as they could. With lots of help from their fabulous wedding co-ordinator, they made it happen. Details from handmade signs to “thank you” flowers that guests took away and handmade trail mix the bride and groom put together for guests to snack on after the ceremony, this wedding was full of personal touches. Hair and makeup was done by Erin’s friends and the gorgeous cake (gluten free!) was even donated by a friend. Erin’s dress was actually a bridesmaid’s dress that she turned into an elegant wedding dress. To top it off she wore a lovely handmade headpiece that pulled the look together and also had a vintage feel. The gorgeous green shoes she chose added an unexpected element that completed the look.
