Several changes were on the agenda of the Pennsylvania Board of Game Commissioners at their most recent meeting. Some of the changes may effect NWPA deer hunters. The preliminary approval of split deer hunting seasons in WMU’s 1A and 1B would limit hunters to targeting antlered deer from Nov. 30 – Dec. 4. Doe hunting would then be allowed with antlered deer from Dec.. 5 – 12. These changes will effect several counties in NWPA including Erie, Crawford, Venango, Mercer, and Lawrence counties. Hunters from WMU 2F in Warren and Forest Counties were under similar regulations during the 2014-2015 deer hunting season. Final approval for the new regulations will be on the table for the Pennsylvania Game Commission’s April 10-11 meetings. The public may offer comments to all proposed 2015-2016 Seasons and Bag Limits as well as other board actions from now until the board’s next meeting in April.
