Fishing Camp The Game
Fishing Camp The Game is a board game designed for the whole family aged four and up. The game is also designed like many other board games and the basic rules make game play simple. What distinguishes this game from others is the wealth of information included with the Questions/Answers and Fun Facts part of the game.
You must choose a level of Questions before the start of the game. There are four levels of fishing Questions that range from beginner (Level 1) to advanced (Level 4). These Questions can be found on the playing cards that players will receive when they land on a yellow lilly pad during game play. Many of the Level 1 Questions will ask the player to identify an item in a photo printed on the Questions card. The photos provided on the Question cards are of fish, or fishing gear related. Trivia and true/false Questions found on the cards will increase in difficulty up to Level 4. Level 4 questions should test even the most weathered angler. Questions for Level 4 players may include scientific names of species and tackle specifics. Don’t worry though, all of the questions are multiple choice.
Fun Facts cards are also included in game play and further increase participants knowledge of the fishing world. Fishing Camp The Game centers around a playing board with Boat game pieces for each player. A roll of the large single die will let players know how many spaces to move their game piece. The object of the game is to answer questions correctly and make it back to their spot on the dock with a fish. A player who answers a Question Card with a fish icon on it correctly, then makes it back to the dock, will be declared the winner of the game.
The game is usually finished in about a half hour. This fast pace keeps players interested and can provide multiple winners in a single session. If you enjoy fishing, or want to learn more about fishing, this game is great for you. I played the game with my family at the camp picnic table and everyone enjoyed the questions/answers part the most. Once you’ve learned some of the facts of fishing, you can impress everyone with your knowledge of fishing, and maybe yourself with catching more fish!
