Caranzalem beach, Just past Sunset
River Mandovi flows through the capital city of Goa -Panjim or Panaji and merges into the Arabian sea near Miramar beach. The U shaped land here extends from Aquada Fort area on northern tip to the Raj Bhavan, Dona Paula beach at the southern tip. It is a perfect place to witness the placid Mandovi joining the calm Arabian seas. It is the closest of the Goa Beaches to the capital city. A few yards south from Miramar beach is Caranzalem beach visited largely by locals living in the area, like myself. While tourists on Goa Holidays head for the over crowded beaches elsewhere. Snippets of this peaceful beach for you:
Just past the sunset, the sea birds have already left for nests, skies are clear and the beach is serene. Few ships form the background of the vast seas. And the tip of landmass on either side just visible.
Zoom in and one can see the never ending waves of water gushing to the shores.
And the retreating waves creat patterns on the sands that tell their own short stories in reflections.
Caranzalem Beach, Goa – Dusk Scene
As it gets darker, the waves rise higher and reach out further into the beaches. Throwing out the dead fish and other perished marine lives which will serve as breakfast for the early birds next day.
The lights on board the ships make an impressive sight at dusk by the beach.
The circular light beams emitting from the Fort Aquada light house gets brighter with dusk. It will be few more hours to another bright morning and a new day.
For Goa Tourists, residing in Panaji, I would recommend this safe Miramar Caranzalem stretch of Goa Beaches for early morning and evening walks, jogging, stroll, beach football and just relax in the cool breeze. Public transportation is also good for this beach and precious time commuting saved can be put to good use visiting Goa Hinterland attractions, Museums, Islands etc as per one’s travel interests during the day.
