2010 Pennsylvania boating safety report
While boat registration declined in Pennsylvania in 2010, accidents and related statistics were on the rise.
The 2010 Pennsylvania Boating Accident Analysis , compiled by boating and watercraft safety manager Ryan C. Walt of the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission, indicates reported recreational boating accidents increased by 14 percent from 2009. There were reports of 15 more vessels involved in accidents, for a total of 92. There were 61 reported injuries, one more than in 2009, and $230,576 in property damage, or $32,163 more than a year earlier.
