Inflatable Balls Could Help NYC Subways During Future Floods

New York City may have been unprepared for Hurricane Sandy; however, The Big Apple is getting creative for the future. At this moment, the federal government is developing giant inflatable plugs to protect NYC subways from terrorist attacks. They’ve now realized these plugs also have the potential to help during flooding from storms.

“We’ve proved that these plugs can hold back water,” Dave Cadogan of ILC Dover, the plug’s manufacturer, told CNN . “I wish we had moved a little bit faster as a team and had gotten this development done.”
