FlightHub’s Guide To Toronto On A Budget
By FlightHub
Toronto is Canada ’s most populated city and the capitol of the province of Ontario. With more than 2.6 million people living within the city and its suburbs, Toronto is a national and global leader in international business, finance, arts and culture.
FlightHub Review has put together a Toronto must-see for less than $25 a day.
Grab A TTC Day Pass
A Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) day pass is a little steep, listed at $11.50 per person. Take the time to plan your route and see if you really need this pass. Standard TTC prices are $3 for entrance, and you get a transfer. If you’re only looking for a round trip deal, FlightHub suggests opting out of the day pass and instead paying the $6 total.
Walk To The Harbour Front
Whether it’s summer or winter, there’s always something going on at the Harbor Front. From lounging on Muskoka chairs and enjoying the weather, to skating on the beautiful rinks set up during the winter, or viewing the exhibits put on the cultural center, the Harbour Front has it going on. FlightHub recommends walking along the paths and seeing the boats and ferry’s make their way through Lake Ontario.
Frolic In Kensington Market
One of the most spirited areas of Toronto, FlightHub advises visitors check out Kensington Market. The Market is a cultural neighborhood in Downtown Toronto, and is home to college hangouts, family-friendly attractions, bars and pubs, cafes and specialty food shops. Enjoy shopping in both trendy boutiques and thrift shops as you navigate the area’s narrow pedestrian streets. Stay tuned for free festivals or celebrations as they’re plentiful throughout the year.
See The Eaton Center
FlightHub suggests visiting one of the largest malls in Canada at the Toronto Eaton Center. The Eaton Center is located directly in the heart of Downtown Toronto — next to Dundas Square — and boasts an 330 stores spread amongst five levels. Window shop during the afternoon, or grab a quick bite to eat while in the mall before venturing off for the rest of your stay.
Walk Around Dundas Square
In the heart of Downtown Toronto and facing the Eaton Center is Toronto’s cultural hub, Dundas Square. The public space is used for various events, shows, performances and art displays and has become an important landmark for the city. FligthHub recommends visiting the square in the summer as there’s always something interesting going on.
Visit Toronto Island
Feeling like you want to mellow out? Grab a ferry and head to Toronto Island. For less than $8, make your way to the island and enjoy wonderful bike paths, walking trains, beaches and swimming. Remember to pack a picnic and enjoy your day.
Whether you’re looking for fun or to relax, FlightHub knows that Toronto has it all and more!
