I first encountered Kalorama Cookie Company while we were planning our wedding workshop this spring. Both adorable and delicious, what’s not to love? These would be the perfect addition to any welcome bag, or stand alone as a creative favor.
What is Kalorama Cookie Company and how did it get it’s start?
Kalorama Cookie Company is a gourmet bakeshop in Washington, DC that specializes in custom, hand-decorated and delicious sugar cookies. Owner Patti Greenstein (a native Washingtonian and early childhood educator) first started decorating cookies as a young child with family friends around the holidays. Years later, she would bake for staff and colleagues every chance she got before finally deciding to turn her hobby into a business in the spring of 2012. Since then, she has been turning out cookies that are as delightful to the eye as they are to the taste buds.
Can you create any shape?
So far, we have been able to meet clients’ need for specific shapes and designs! All of our designs are hand drawn, however, rather than screen printed, and the cookie cutter supply does have its limits, so it’s possible there’s a challenge out there that will stump us, but we haven’t seen it yet!
What is your most popular design for weddings?
The classic, three tiered wedding cake cookie is one of our most popular, and brides personalize it by selecting the accent color of their choice. First letters of first and last names are also popular.
