It is kind of hard to believe that our wedding is just three months away. My fiancé proposed in December 2011 and at the time it felt like we had all the time in the world to plan a wedding and prepare for this next step in our lives. But the closer the wedding gets, the more I am starting to feel like I really could use another year or two!

So far we have finalized just about everything, from bridesmaid dresses to music – and I have to confess one of the easiest, and also hardest decisions I made was picking my photographer.

Just like every other aspect of wedding planning in the DC area, we have a ton of options! And while it is a blessing to have so much talent to choose from, it can be overwhelming to make decisions.

When I first started planning the wedding, I read everything I could find on making smart choices and strategically picking the right vendor. Because we DC girls are nothing if not smart and strategic.

But when it came down to it, I basically fell into a girl crush with my photographer, both with her talent and her personality. And to bottom line it even further, I knew she would make my mom feel comfortable on wedding day, which would make me feel comfortable on wedding day, and as a result make everyone feel comfortable on wedding day.
For all those lists, and all those tips, I basically just went with my gut and picked the right “ one .”

…But, for real, if you are craving a few strategic tips… I will share some in a coming tips post!
