Located in the heart of the District, the Carnegie Institution for Science has a variety of rooms to suite any couple. One of the most popular event spaces is the Ballroom, which is perfect for a seated dinner accommodating up to 170 guests or a standing cocktail reception for up to 200 guests.  The Rotunda, on the other hand, with its Roman style Corinthian columns and sophisticated system of skylights, is a classic space for a 125 person cocktail reception, and can seat up to 160 guests for a ceremony. The Rotunda is also the perfect space for dancing during the reception. And did we mention the elliptical marble staircase? Talk about an entrance!

Another impeccable space, the portico, has six limestone columns and impressive bronze doors, making it an ideal location for photos with the bridal party, family, or guests.  Couples may use this space as they choose, whether as their main entrance for guests or as additional space for cocktail hour.

For a more intimate feel, the Boardroom features dark wood paneling and an oversized fireplace, and can hold 80 guests for cocktails or 50 for a seated dinner.

The final featured room is the 3rd floor library. Typically used as a bridal suite, the room is home to many leather bound books and is the perfect place for pictures.  The skylight windows in the ceiling allow plenty of natural light to shine in to every corner of this room.

With a variety of unique rooms and spaces to choose from, the Carnegie Institution allows for unlimited flexibility and creativity, letting couples decide how they want their event to be set up.
