What tips do you have for brides when selecting a hair style for the big day?

1. During the consultation bring pictures of your dress, flowers and color scheme.  The more details we know about your wedding the more suggestions we have for Hair and Make Up. The Artists with Modern Bridal Studio will ask a series of questions to make a few great suggestion for a wedding beauty look.

Some examples:

If your wedding is in August and you have super fine hair that barely holds a curl, a down style will not be the choice for a long wearing look. If you plan on a lot of dancing you may want a lower secure up do. There are all different variations of up dos. Braids and Twists are fun ways to add some individuality to a classic up do!

Another tip, take your time selecting your bridal hair accessories. The artists will be able to suggest the proper size pieces to properly compliment your frame and profile. Certain combs and clips work better with different types of hair and hair styles.

Have you noticed any emerging wedding hair trends?

1. Brides are loving half up/half down styles with a soft curl and side swept bang with a little added height to the back.

2. Low messy buns with added braids have been very popular this year. The great thing is this looks different on everyone! Some are choosing to have it on the side, some are choosing to have it in the lower, middle center. If you hair is shorter we are able to add a small hair piece (usually under $30) to add natural looking fullness.

3. A lot of volume and the bangs all pulled back. This looks great when some hair is left down and the hair accessory is a headband. The hair in the back can also be twisted up into a soft swept up style.

About how far in advance do you recommend brides do their trial?

I recommend booking a trial 6 months in advance to secure your artist for the big day. Especially if you are having someone come to your location. I am booking for June, October and March at least 6-9 months in advance. The other months you will have more flexibility.

We are offering a special for the months of July and August.

Have your first trial and book your 2013 wedding and you will receive a second trial on us.

Do you have any skin care tips for brides leading up to their wedding?

As a licensed Master Esthetician this is one of my favorite topics.

Start a skincare regime 6 months before your wedding I offer skincare services at local medial spas. The bridal package comes with a gift certificate to see me for an introductory session. I will go through your products, ask questions about your stress levels and uncover your goals. Then I will make customized recommendations for you.
