Opening Day and the Sun is Shining!
Ok, its true. As much as I love winter and snow and skiing and snowshoeing, I am dying for summer to officially arrive! I am itching to get outside and be in my tent and get to the top of a summit or 12!
I’ve been doing a lot of observations at the middle school and today was no exception. What a trip! I have observed quite a few kids with ED (emotional disabilities) and it is so fascinating to me. I would never be interested in enough science to want to understand the neurology or psychology behind it, but the way these kids’ brains work is so different to anything I am used to. As much as it surprises people, I am really starting to think the ED/behavioral disorder route is the one that I am truly interested in. Of course, if I end up getting kicked in the head one too many times, I may be singing a completely different song, but I guess only time will tell. I’ve also decided that I think I want to tack on an ELL certificate along with the SPED license. Unfortunately, Regis has their program temporarily on hold, but since it will be awhile until I get to that point anyway, I will keep my fingers crossed that it is up and functioning again. I just have so many kiddos over there that literally cannot read in English, and their Spanish skills are not much better. Who knows.
