PIAS Christmas Bird Count December 20th
The Presque Isle Audubon Society, along with volunteers, will participate in the 115th Christmas Bird Count on Presque Isle State Park on December 20th. This date coincides with the date span designated by the National Audubon Society. Anyone interested in joining in the count can participate by meeting at the Presque Isle Ranger Station between 7am and 7:30am on December 20th. Participants will sign in and be assigned into groups at the Ranger Station. After the morning count, participants will meet at the Rangers Station for lunch (please bring your own). After an initial count is taken, groups may return to areas missed before a final tally. Finally, groups will meet at Hoss’s Steak and Seafood for dinner, discussion, and the final tally. Volunteers do not have to stay for the entire event in order to participate.
