A Few Anglers are Catching Steelhead in Lake Erie Tribs

Water levels this past week in Lake Erie tributaries remained low and clear. That doesn’t stop anglers from finding the fish. Brandon Sanner, of Edinboro, caught several fresh steelhead recently.  He said about the conditions, “the water is gin clear and too slow to nymph, but there are a few steelhead upstream in West side tribs”. These fish moved into tributary streams when water levels were on the rise. This time of year, steelhead strike a variety of baits and lures. Brandon has been doing well using buggers and jigs .On the East side fish have remained close to the mouths and casting from the lakeshore with spoons is probably the best bet at this point.
